These guys have been through Honolulu 3 times now (I think this is the third) and they always put on a good live show. They did a performance in the hall that you can see by going to www.thehall.tv and two shows at Pipeline Cafe.
The Pipeline Cafe part was kinda surprising since that band is now big enough to play Blaisdell Arena, which My Chemical Romance did in December of ’08. I’d consider the two bands to be of roughly equal popularity and fully capable of playing larger venues. However, in the end I can’t be too put out by the location choice as Pipeline is a pretty good venue, especially with the new ownership’s renovations.
So I’d go into detail, but really it was a straight-forward kind of show. The only nit-pick I had with the event was with frontman Tyson Ritter. He’s a great performer, but someone needs to tell him that he’s not Mick Jagger. In fact, someone needs to tell that to more frontmen of more bands. Mick Jagger is Mick Jagger and you look like your wearing your dad’s clothes.
